The Petersburg Indian Association - Tribal Resources Division launched it's community recyling program in March of 2006. The Program offers curbside recycling pick-up for participating households. Items such as recyclable plastics, aluminum, tin and glass can be picked up from your household, weekly and at no cost. Our intention is to make it as easy and convenient as possible for the residents of Petersburg to participate in recycling their household trash. We currently have over 60 households participationg, with the list growing on a weekly basis. In addition to curbside pick-up for private residence we also offer Cardboard pick-up from local businesses. We now collect over a ton of recyclable cardboard each week. Both the cardboard and the household recyclables are brought to the city of Petersburg bailer facility where they are sorted and later shipped out to be recycled.
If you have any questions or comments regarding our recycling program or would like to sign up for services, please call Skip Hallingstad @ (907) 772-3636.
